Waiting for your flight

At Helsinki Airport, waiting for a flight is a pleasure. Below are a few tips on how you can spend your time at the airport.

If you have 1 hour

Stop by the panorama lounge above the Fly Inn restaurant. The lounge is open to all passengers and offers outstanding views of the runways. You won't find a higher vantage point in the terminal.

Head over to the athmospheric Cafe Tori. Located near gate 26, you can enjoy coffee with traditional Finnish pastries as well as sushi and sparkling wine. The café has an excellent view of the tarmac and a playground for children. 

 

If you have 2 hours

Stop by the Design Gallery or the Art Gallery to see Finnish design and modern art. The Design Gallery is located at gate 11, the Art Gallery at the long-haul flight area near gate 37. Passengers have free entry to both galleries around the clock.

 

 

Visit the Book Swap point and sit for a moment in the reading corner. You can pick up free reading for your travel or leave your own books to be circulated by other readers. You reach Book Swap at gate 27, via the steps that lead to the Fly Inn restaurant.

 

 

Eat well and enjoy travelling. Helsinki Airport's à la carte restaurants offer everything from a tasty lunch to a fine dining experience complete with wine recommendations. O'Leary's is the number one place for sports fans. The 37 television screens in the restaurant offer many sports experiences in addition to delicious food and wide range of beers. It is located opposite gate 29.

 

If you have 3 hours

Explore the airport's art collection and discover Helsinki Airport's Finnish masterpieces

There is also a barber at Helsinki Airport. Book in advance at Salon Fly Hair, tel. +358 (0)9 822 206. The barber is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.

 

If you have 4 hours

Stop in at the museum. Located just outside Helsinki Airport is the Finnish Aviation Museum. Its collection boasts some 80 aircraft and countless other items related to the world of aviation.


The museum is open Mon-Tue and Thu-Sun 10-17, Wed 10-20. It is an approximately 20-25-minute walk from the terminal. A taxi to the museum costs approximately 7 euros. For more information, visit the museum's website.
