The selections include pizza, pasta, steaks, burgers, salads and traditional finnish cuisine, selfbaked salty and sweet delicacies.

1.2.10 New Capi Photo Electronics opens at gate 12
The selections include cameras, video cameras, MP3-players, wrist computers, gsm phones, and small electrical equipment, CDs and DVDs.

Passengers will be served by Bar Delight at gate 14 and a temporary café near gate 16.

3.11.09 A new Bar Delight has opened at gate 14
The selections include a wide selection of drinks from beer and wines to shampagne and classic cocktails, tapas and snacks to take away.  
 
29.10.09 New Helsinki Airport Duty Free has opened at gate 13
The selections include alcoholic and tobacco products, confectionery, perfumes and cosmetics.

12.10.09 New passport control opens
A new passport control opens in terminal 1 near gate 12.
 
3.10.09 New currency exchange service point Change Group  opens
Change Group is open daily at 6-21 in Arrivals 1.

18.9.09 New Go!Cafe has opened landside
You can choose from a wide variety of savoury and sweet coffee pastries and speciality coffees. A soup and salad lunch is also served on weekdays. The café offers takeaway products for passengers in a hurry.

5.8.09 Domestic Terminal to become an international terminal
The Domestic Terminal will become Terminal 1, when some 15 airlines change terminals on 5 August. To find the right terminal, check the airline listing:
 
Finnair and Finncomm flights will operate out of Terminal 2. 10 international carriers will operate out of Terminal 1. Blue1 flights, both domestic and international, will operate out of Terminal 1.
 
The new international terminal has a customs area, outside of which people coming to meet passengers at Arrivals 1 can wait. A new Go Café will be opened in Arrivals 1, serving everyone visiting the airport, whether they are passengers or anyone dropping off or picking up.
 
The old signage system has been replaced. Read below (3 July) on changes made to the signage.
 
A currency exchange and new shops will open later this autumn. Construction and alteration work will continue until November.
 
4.8.09 Security control line and check-in improvements completed
Security control line capacity has been improved by adding new lines and lengthening the line counters. Four new service desks will be located in the Terminal 1 check-in area and additional self-service kiosks will be placed in the area.
 
3.7.09 Updating of the airport signage system begins
In conjunction with the terminal expansions and changing of airline terminal assignments, the airport signage system will be updated by 5 August 2009. The current gate numbering (11-33) will be increased (9-40). The Domestic Terminal will become Terminal 1 (T1) and International Terminal will become Terminal 2 (T2). Check-in areas can still be found by the terminal number and check-in desk number. The baggage claim and arrival halls will be named Arrivals 1, 2A and 2B. Upon arrival, passengers can find out where to claim their baggage on monitors in the terminal.
 
8.6.-5.8.09 Information and Parking customer service are closed
Passengers will be served by Information in Arrivals hall 2 and by Parking customer Service in Service Floor in Terminal 2. Check the locations in the service map.
 
8.6.09 Finnair ticket office closes
Passengers will be served by the Finnair ticket office in Service Floor in Terminal 2. Check the location in the service map.  

3.6.09 A new Airport Shop has opened at gate 20
The selections include fragrances, a wide variety of sweets, cosmetics and gift items as well as Finnish-made gourmet products.

2.6.09 Suklaa ja Puuteri closes
Starting on 4 June, you can buy perfumes, sweets and other gifts at the new Airport Shop at gate 20.
 
4.5.09 Artek Area closes
 
30.4.09 Intermezzo Café closes

Passengers will be served by Restaurant Intermezzo and a temporary café near gate 14.
 
15.4.09 Café Maku & Nautinto, Tie Rack and Domestic Lounge closes
Café Maku & Nautinto closes it's doors. Passengers will be served by restaurant Intermezzo and a temporary café to be built in the area.
Tie Rack closes. Another Tie Rack serves at gate 27.
Finnair Domestic Lounge closes as well. The nearest lounge Finnair Silver Wings Lounge serves at gate 26.

16.3.09 The lockers have moved

16.2.09 Salon Fly Hair moves, Alko closes
The hairdressing saloon moved to the Terminal 2. Check the new location in the service map.
Alko has discontinued operating at the airport.
The meditation room is closed for the time being.
