Airport Book Swap

Helsinki Airport offers reading experiences

For bookworms and other passengers looking for airport entertainment, a unique book swapping station has been opened at Helsinki Airport near gate 27. The Airport Book Swap is open to all passengers free of charge 24 hours a day.

From one passenger to another

Anyone passing through Helsinki Airport can visit the Book Swap and pick up a read for their flight free of charge. In exchange, they can send a book they have already finished reading on further journeys with other passengers by dropping it off at the book swapping station. Passengers are advised to mark their book's journey on a small sticker on the inside cover - this way others can see where the book has travelled.

The Book Swap is located on the second floor near gate 27. Make your way to the station by either walking up the stairs that lead to the Fly Inn Restaurant & Deli or taking the lift opposite to the gate.

The idea behind the Book Swap comes directly from passengers. Finavia and Finnair sent eight Quality Hunters around the world to comment on their experiences on flights and airports. These Quality Hunters, together with an active international community of online followers, came up with 260 ideas of improvement, among which a book swapping station was one of the most popular.
