Work and relax at the airport in Suvanto
Let us introduce you Suvanto, an oasis comprising work and rest locations, where people can work and relax at the airport. The Suvanto lounge concept has been created as a joint World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 project by Finavia and partner companies. It will be a visible part of the Design Capital Year offering at Helsinki Airport all the way to 2013. A total of three Suvanto lounges will be built at the airport. "Our goal has been to create a new kind of passenger service, which is available for everyone and meets the challenges of the changing passenger culture. Finavia's goal is to further strengthen the position of Helsinki Airport as the leading transit airport in North Europe. Related to this, we continuously carry out development to improve the passenger experience at the airport", says Marko Tikkanen, director at Finavia. Suvanto furniture has been designed by Martela's Chief Designer Pekka Toivola in cooperation with Interior Architect Iiro Viljanen. In practice, every air passenger today carries one or more electronic devices. However, recharging them when flying and visiting world´s airports is not always easy. In fact, one key service of Suvanto is to enable device recharging while working or relaxing. Suvanto locations have been comfortably raised onto a flexible floor contrary to the hard floor of the airport, which caters to heavy use. This is a welcome change to tired feet. Finavia's goal is to continue the Suvanto concept as a permanent element of Helsinki Airport's passenger services after the Design Capital Year. Expansion of the concept to cover other key airports in Finland is also possible. New business lounge opened at Helsinki AirportThe lounge facilities of Helsinki Airport are even better with the introduction of the well-functioning and stylish Aspire lounge.
Loyalty card holders of airlines can enjoy the services of the Aspire lounge free of charge but other customers are also welcome against payment. The Aspire has great opportunities for relaxing or working effectively before your flight. The lounge is boldly divided in spaces of different colours, from which everyone will find a suitable environment. The design and service concept of the lounge particularly caters to the needs of the demanding client base. "Our lounge concept has the first priority on the customer's perspective. The facilities make it possible for the customer to have privacy if they so choose. The main thing is that the customer enjoys their stay," says Veijo Karosvuo, Managing Director of Servisair, responsible for the Aspire lounge's services. The lounge is located on the second floor opposite of Departure Gate 27. In addition to office services, customer are served free of charge drinks, alcohol, special coffees, tea, breakfast and a light lunch starting at 12 noon. The lounge also has a shower facility. |
