Nordavia launched two new routes from Russia

Helsinki Airport connections with Russia were further improved when Nordavia Regional Airlines begun direct service from Murmansk and Arkhangelsk. The service was launched on 16 December.

Helsinki Airport is the only airport in the European Union with direct connections to the Russian city of Arkhangelsk.

Thanks to its geographic location, Helsinki Airport offers the shortest route from these cities to European destinations. Nordavia flies both routes three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights are operated using 40-seat An-24 twin turboprop aircraft.

Helsinki now offers service to a total of six destinations in Russia. There are several daily flights to Moscow and St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg four times a week and Petrozavodsk three times a week.
