Helsinki Airport's flight connections improved further as Finnair opened a fast
new connection from Helsinki to Stockholm Bromma and to Stuttgart on August 16.
Finnair Vice President Jarkko Konttinen (left) and Helsinki Airport Vice
President Jukka Isomäki opened the new routes. Both first flights were nearly
fully booked.
Customers have now the option of choosing Bromma, situated very close to the
centre of the Swedish capital and close to the Kista district, in addition to
Stockholm's main airport, Arlanda.
Finnair flies to Bromma twice a day on weekdays and once on Sundays. In addition
to Finnair flights, Danish airline Sun-Air started also two daily flights from
Helsinki to Bromma on weekdays. Co-operation between Finnair and Sun-Air also
offers Swedish customers fast connections via Helsinki to Asia.
- The new super-fast connection serves our business customers better, especially
those who travel frequently between Helsinki and Stockholm, says Petteri
Kostermaa, responsible for route planning at Finnair.
Finnair's flights to Stuttgart also opened on August 16. The flights have very
good connections with Finnair's domestic services. For customers in the
Stuttgart area, the flights provide excellent connections via Helsinki to
Asia.
Morning departures from Helsinki to Stuttgart are on Mondays, Fridays and
Saturdays, as well as daily evening departures. Morning return flights to
Helsinki depart from Stuttgart every day, with evening departures on Thursdays,
Fridays and Sundays.
In addition to these routes, Finnair will launch new direct service to Singapore
in May 2011. It is one of Asia's most important business destinations and
represents significant growth in Asian traffic for Helsinki Airport. Finnair's
daily service will be the fastest connection between Northern Europe and
Singapore," says Senior Vice President and Airport Director Juha-Pekka
Pystynen.
Next year Helsinki Airport will offer 10 direct flights to destinations
throughout Asia every day. In addition to this, there will be 12 weekly flights
to Hong Kong.
