Check-in at a self-service kiosk is easy, practical and fast

Already some 90 % of all passengers travelling from Helsinki Airport have the possibility of checking in using a self-service kiosk. The service is used by 14 airlines and the number of participating airlines will continue to grow.

There are a large number of kiosks located in all check-in areas as well as one in the Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Hotel lobby. All self-service kiosks are open to all passengers on participating airlines, they are not devoted to individual airlines.

Passenger feedback has been positive since the service was launched. The user-friendliness and speed of the kiosks were especially well received.

How to check in using a self-service kiosk?

First the kiosk requires passenger identification. The easiest way to present your identification is to use an international credit card. Other forms of identification, such as a passport or flight number, vary from airline to airline.

After submitting your identification, just follow the simple instructions given by the kiosk.

Then, after you have completed the check-in procedure, take any baggage being checked in to the baggage drop of your airline.

Terminal guides will be happy to assist you with use of the kiosk if you have never used one before.

CUTE/CUPPS is behind everything

Since the spring of 2010, the technology behind the entire check-in process has been CUTE/CUPPS (Common Use Terminal Equipment/Common Use Passenger Processing System). CUTE/CUPPS represents the cutting edge in technology and the systems used by numerous airlines and ground handling services have been integrated into it.
