Watch the ice hockey world championships at Helsinki Airport

Now, even if you are travelling right during the championships, you don't have to miss a game! Catch all the world-class ice hockey action at Helsinki Airport, whether you're waiting for a flight or right after you get off the plane.

The Nike viewing area at Helsinki Airport is a fabulous space for ice hockey fans and sports enthusiasts. Visitors can watch live broadcasts of all the games of the Finnish national team as well as select games of other countries. The Nike viewing area is located by Gate 27 and is open 24/7.

The section also includes a Nike pop-up store. Fans can show their support and buy merchandise from their favourites teams, including the Finnish, Russian and Swedish national teams, among others.

You can also watch the ice hockey championships at the new O'Learys sports bar at the airport. The bar has almost 40 big TV screens and a separate room dedicated to the Finnish national team. The room features a collage of images that re-capture all the glory and excitement of the 2011 world champion Finnish team. The cabinet is available for reservations for large groups or meetings.

And the fun doesn't end there! Try your hand at scoring a few goals in tabletop hockey at O’Learys during the championships. The new sports bar is located by the viewing section, opposite to Gate 28.

Providing world-class ice hockey entertainment and taking passionate sport fans into account is just one part of Finavia's goal to improve the customer experience and airport services. We want to make Helsinki-Vantaa the most popular transit airport between Europe and Asia.

How Helsinki Airport distinguishes itself in the international competition plays an important part for the offering of flight connections to and from Finland,” says Juha-Pekka Pystynen, Director of Helsinki Airport.

The ice hockey world championships will take place in Helsinki and Stockholm on 4–20 May 2012.
