Airlines


There are 30 airlines which use Helsinki Airport facilities for their scheduled and charter traffic. Some airlines, amongst themselves, have made so-called codeshare(*) agreements for certain routes. This means that several airlines can sell tickets for the same flight, but only one airline actually operates that flight.
 
The airline companies are responsible, in addition to transporting passengers and baggage, for many airport services such as check-in, luggage handling, services at the departure gate as well as the use of boarding bridges and passenger stairs. These tasks for the airlines are managed by companies providing ground handling services.
